Software removal, installation tracing and leftover scanning

Revo Uninstaller Pro 5 combines software removal and leftover scanning with Forced Uninstall, real-time installation tracing and a Logs Database. Manage Windows apps and browser extensions, then review completed operations through Uninstall History.

Remove unwanted software and inspect what remains

Revo Uninstaller Pro 5 helps manage installed Windows programs and examine data left after removal. Its normal workflow starts with the application's built-in uninstaller, followed by scanning for related files, folders and Registry entries.

Before removing software, preserve documents, settings and license information you may need later. Review the selected application and its publisher so that a similarly named component is not removed by mistake.

Choose removal based on the installation

Use a regular uninstall for a program with a working removal routine. Forced Uninstall provides another route for incomplete installations, missing program entries or remnants of software removed earlier.

When using Forced Uninstall, identify the application by its exact name or a file or folder that belongs to it. A broad folder shared by several programs is a poor starting point. Inspect proposed results rather than assuming every match is exclusive to the target.

Trace new installations for later review

Real-time installation monitoring records changes as software is installed. A trace log gives later removal a different source of information from a scan performed after the application has already been removed.

Keep a tracing session focused on the intended installation and check the resulting record. Monitoring is useful when testing new software, but it does not replace an independent backup or establish that every future change is captured.

Use the Logs Database for supported programs

The vendor-maintained Logs Database provides installation traces for supported applications. It offers an additional removal workflow when you do not have your own trace from the original installation.

Check the program, version and log details before using a database entry. An application installed with different options or updated later may not match a reference installation exactly, so keep reviewing the proposed changes.

What version 5 adds

Version 5 introduces Uninstall History and detailed result summaries, along with batch removal for Windows apps and browser extensions. It also adds removal and leftover scanning across Windows accounts and expands interface customization, including dark mode.

When working across accounts, consider other users' applications and settings before confirming a change. For batch removal, choose a small, understood group first and inspect the completed results instead of treating a single finished item as confirmation for the whole batch.

Manage Windows apps and browser extensions

Dedicated modules organize Windows apps and browser extensions alongside conventional desktop programs. These separate views help locate software that may not appear in the same way as a traditional installer-based application.

Identify an extension's purpose before removing it, especially if it supports a password manager or another application you use. Check the affected browser afterward and confirm that the intended extension is gone without disrupting needed functionality.

Make cleanup reviewable

Review leftover selections before deletion and keep a record of what was removed. Uninstall History helps inspect completed operations; it should not be treated as a complete backup of the computer or its documents.
