Acronis Migrate Easy 7.0 - Disk Migration Archive

Historical software reference. This article describes the named historical release or service.

What Migrate Easy 7.0 was designed to do

Acronis Migrate Easy 7.0 was designed to transfer a working system to another hard disk. Its migration workflow copied the operating system, applications and data together, rather than asking the user to reinstall each application and move documents separately.

Migration features

  • Automatic mode provided a guided disk-transfer workflow. Manual mode allowed more control over the layout.
  • Transferred partitions could be resized to fit the replacement disk.
  • The application also covered adding a disk for storage and preparing an old disk for reuse.

These are features of the historical 7.0 release. The product name does not establish support for a particular modern disk, encrypted volume or boot configuration.

Plan a replacement before copying

Identify the source and destination by model and capacity. Keep an independent backup before changing either disk. Do not combine disk migration with erasing the only existing copy of your files.

After migration, start the replacement disk independently and check important files and applications. Keep the original intact until you have confirmed the new installation and made another backup.

Choose a workflow for your task

The drive-cloning guide explains preparation and verification for a disk replacement. If your goal is to keep several recovery dates rather than replace a drive immediately, read the disk-imaging guide.
