Back up selected files or an entire system

Ashampoo Backup Pro 27 creates backups of files, folders, drives and system partitions. Choose selected documents for a focused archive, or a system image when you need a recovery point for Windows and its installed software.

Start with what you would need after a failure. Keep work documents, photos and other changing data in plans you can review separately from a larger system backup.

Create and manage plans in one workflow

Version 27 combines the previous wizard, Easy Backup and templates into a unified setup. Select the source, destination and backup settings, then adjust an existing plan from its overview. File selection supports both presets and manual choices, with exclusions for unwanted content.

The redesigned dashboard shows plan statistics, drive SMART status and errors. A detail panel provides logs, reports and plan settings. Check the last result after changing a source folder or destination.

Choose local, network or cloud storage

Save backups to local or external drives, network folders or supported cloud services, including OneDrive, Google Drive and Dropbox. Configured Plug & Play plans can start when the associated external drive is connected.

Use a destination separate from the data you are protecting. A backup kept only on the same physical drive can be lost with the original files if that drive fails.

Match the archive settings to your recovery needs

Configure compression and encryption when creating a plan. File backups offer storage formats that prioritize direct access or storage efficiency. Review these choices before committing a large collection to a destination.

Keep the information needed to access protected archives somewhere you can retrieve it after a computer failure. Restore a sample document to a separate folder and check that it opens correctly.

Extract individual files with Backup Explorer

The redesigned Backup Explorer lets you browse backup contents and recover selected files or folders, including from image backups. Retrieve a missing document without restoring the whole partition.

For a computer that cannot start Windows, create a bootable rescue USB drive or disc in advance. The revised rescue environment supports file, partition and system recovery from an existing backup.

Check drives and access BitLocker-protected storage

Check & Repair scans drives for errors and supports processing several drives in sequence. Expanded BitLocker unlocking includes Smartcard and TPM methods. Drive checks complement backups; they do not replace a separate recovery copy.

Review reported errors before relying on a destination for your only archive. Keep another copy of irreplaceable data and test access to your backup from the rescue environment.
