Add malware checks with Auslogics Anti-Malware

Auslogics Anti-Malware is a Windows scanning and removal tool designed to complement your main antivirus. It provides different scan scopes and controls for reviewing suspicious items.

Use it as part of a protection routine that includes software updates and careful account practices. A clean scan result does not establish that every download, website, or message is trustworthy.

Choose quick, deep, or custom scanning

Quick scanning checks important areas, deep scanning examines the wider system, and custom scanning targets selected files or folders.

Choose the scope around your task. For example, inspect a specific downloaded folder when that is the concern, or allow time for a wider check when investigating unexplained behavior.

Review detections in their context

The scanner checks areas including memory, system and temporary folders, registry entries, and scheduled startup items. Review the reported location and item before choosing an action.

A familiar file name does not prove legitimacy, and an alert deserves investigation rather than an automatic exception. Keep useful detection details when seeking technical help.

Use quarantine while investigating suspicious files

Quarantine isolates suspicious items and provides a restoration route when appropriate. It serves a different purpose from immediately deleting a file.

Do not restore a quarantined item solely because an application stopped finding it. Verify its source and the detection first, then decide whether recovery is justified.

Manage exclusions and detection settings

An Ignore List excludes selected files or folders from future checks. The heuristic setting adjusts how the engine looks for unfamiliar threats.

Keep exclusions narrow and review why each one exists. Detection sensitivity can affect the balance between additional alerts and missed threats; do not disable checks merely to dismiss an inconvenient warning.

Plan scheduled checks around your work

Automatic scan scheduling is available in the full version. Review the selected license and enabled settings before relying on recurring checks or repeated cleanup.

Check that scheduled tasks actually complete and inspect their results. Periodic scans should not be assumed to provide the same coverage as continuously active antivirus protection.

Separate security scanning from other maintenance

Malware removal does not recreate missing files or guarantee that every system change has been reversed. Keep independent recovery copies and investigate persistent symptoms after reviewing scan results.
