Product comparison
iolo Privacy Guardian vs Ashampoo Privacy Inspector 2
Choose around whether you primarily want a recurring cleanup and tracking-protection routine or a detailed view of local activity records. Both products offer privacy-related controls, but inspecting what a PC has recorded and limiting tracking during future browsing are different tasks.
Compare privacy workflows
| Task | iolo Privacy Guardian | Ashampoo Privacy Inspector 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Main emphasis | Scheduled browser cleanup and selected privacy controls | Inspection of local activity and browsing records, plus cleanup and privacy settings |
| Browsing records | Selected cookie, history and other browser-data cleanup | History, download and search-term analysis with filters |
| Recurring cleanup | Cookie-cleanup schedule and website whitelist | Internet Cleaner with deletion history; inspect automation in the installed release |
| Tracking while browsing | Fingerprinting-protection extension workflow for supported browsers | Activity inspection and local cleanup do not by themselves establish equivalent extension protection |
| Windows activity | Selected Windows data-collection controls | Activities module and privacy settings for Windows and applications |
| Additional inspection | Review cleanup and tracking history | DNS cache and hosts-file inspection, plus a File Wiper feature |
Which workflow fits?
Consider Guardian for a browser routine you repeat
iolo Privacy Guardian provides scheduled browsing-data cleanup, a website whitelist and a separate saved-password setting. Test one cleanup before automating it so that useful sessions and credentials are handled as intended.
Check the availability of its tracking-protection extension in every browser you use. The published extension instructions are from 2024 and do not establish universal current browser support.
Consider Inspector for detailed local investigation
Ashampoo Privacy Inspector 2 helps inspect browsing, downloads, searches and PC activities. Its DNS-cache and hosts-file views add local inspection tasks; they are different from encrypting network traffic or preventing every form of tracking.
Review the records you want to remove and keep File Wiper actions separate from browser cleanup. An activity list can include useful history, and deleting a local record does not erase a website's copy of your account activity.
Check the selected privacy controls
- Decide whether the task is recurring browser cleanup, tracking-protection setup or analysis of local records.
- Inspect the relevant browser profile and record category before choosing data to remove.
- Preserve needed sessions, saved credentials and documents; verify any File Wiper target separately.
- Run a small manual cleanup and test sign-in and ordinary browser behavior before expanding the routine.
We have not benchmarked trace discovery or tracking prevention. More recorded events in an inspection view do not establish stronger protection during browsing.
