Enlarge photos and selected details with ZOOM #2
Ashampoo ZOOM #2 uses deep-learning-based SSSP image scaling to prepare larger versions of photographs. Crop a subject, set the output size, and compare the result before saving a copy for printing or presentation.
Use it when a photograph needs more pixels for a larger layout or when you want to enlarge a selected area. The result depends on the source: enlargement can refine the appearance, but it cannot guarantee recovery of the original details that were never recorded.
Choose the crop and target dimensions
Image cropping helps isolate the part you want to enlarge. Set a scaling factor or enter physical dimensions in centimeters, millimeters, inches, or picas. Size templates provide starting points for common output tasks.
For a wall print, choose the composition first and then check the intended print dimensions. For a presentation, review how the enlarged crop looks at the actual display size rather than judging only a small preview.
Balance processing quality and calculation time
Five quality levels let you choose how much processing to apply. Integrated assistants provide information about settings, memory use, and calculation time to help assess the selected output.
Try a representative image before preparing a larger result. A higher quality setting is useful when its visual improvement suits the task; check the preview rather than selecting the strongest settings automatically.
Refine contours and reduce artifacts
Blur correction, super-sampling, and gamma aliasing support contour refinement during enlargement. Artifact reduction provides another adjustment for small or heavily compressed JPEG images.
Inspect edges, fine textures, and smooth areas for unwanted effects. Strong correction can change the appearance of the source, so keep the original and compare more than one area before accepting the result.
Adjust the appearance of the enlarged image
Image presets and photographic controls provide ways to adjust color, contrast, and brightness. Use a preset as a starting point and refine the settings to suit the photograph.
Keep the intended output in mind. A bright screen image may look different in print, and a dramatic contrast adjustment may hide subtle detail. Review the finished copy in the context where it will be used.
Inspect the result with comparison views
The comparison view and magnifying glass help assess the original alongside the processed image. Check recognizable details such as hair, foliage, lettering, and straight edges instead of relying on the overall impression alone.
For text in a scan, increased size does not prove that a character was reconstructed correctly. Refer back to the source when accuracy matters.
Choose scaling or batch conversion for your task
ZOOM #2 focuses on image enlargement and its quality controls. For repeated format conversion, resizing, or watermarking across folders, compare Ashampoo Photo Converter 3.
